Authors/Creators
Description
This article discusses the importance of HIV prevention for medical personnel, an overview of the current situation with HIV in medical institutions. The author analyzes the main methods of prevention, HIV prevention programs for medical personnel, and the current situation with HIV in medical institutions. Informing the population about the disease, the characteristics of transmission routes and manifestations of the disease is of great importance in preventing HIV infection. Practice shows that doctors themselves are not always competent in matters of HIV prevention, therefore raising the level of awareness of medical workers on HIV prevention issues should be one of the components of information campaigns. The goal of prevention programs is to prevent the spread of HIV infection among the population, that is, to prevent the occurrence of new cases of infection. Depending on the stage at which the intervention is carried out, three levels of prevention are distinguished.
