Description

Biodiversity is an integral part of life. The existence of human
beings only depends on a balanced ecosystem and rich
biodiversity. The diversity of plants is declining at an alarming
rate, and we need to document them for conservation purposes.
In this aspect, orchids are climate indicators and have a lot of
threats created by human beings. Therefore, documentation of
orchid species is an important task. The three editors and
seventeen contributors of this edited book, "Orchids of India:
Food, Medicinal, and Ecological Aspects," have attempted to
explore the food, medicinal, and ecological values of orchids in
our day-to-day lives and how they play an important role in
maintaining the ecosystem. This book will be helpful to students,
faculty, and researchers interested in learning about orchid
diversity.
