Description

The "Urban Air Quality and Thermal Comfort: A Case Study in Bergen" report outlines the results of the TURBAN project's observations and modeling techniques used in urban areas in Bergen. We provide a summary of the data and methods used in our observations and modeling, to make our approach to measuring urban air and thermal comfort more transparent to the public. Our goal is to explore various mitigation options and communication methods that can be used to share our findings with relevant city authorities. Effective communication with local stakeholders was crucial in disseminating the project's findings. To achieve this, the project used webGIS and storytelling to convey complex information in an accessible manner. The project developed a web GIS platform called "Air Quality in Cities and Thermal Comfort: Stories of Urban Air," available in English, Czech, and Norwegian. The platform includes stories about Prague and Bergen, highlighting urban environmental information.
