LINGUOCULTURAL INTERFERENCE AND POSSIBILITIES TO OVERCOME IT (ON THE EXAMPLE OF TRANSLATION FROM ENGLISH INTO RUSSIAN)

Description

The article is devoted to the actual problem of overcoming linguocultural interference in the process of a foreign language learning. The research aim is to study the possibilities of overcoming linguocultural interference by native Russian speakers when learning English.  Having used various methods of analyses the article’s author comes to the conclusion   that overcoming linguocultural interference is possible by referring different types dictionaries, linguoculturological mini-texts, as well as explaining the use in English metaphors and performing exercises to compare the use of lexical units in context in English and Russian. The author considers the development of a special set of exercises to overcome linguocultural   interference   in the process of English learning as a promising research area.
