Characterisation of small size MRPC prototypes for fast timing and high rates

Description

The Multigap Resistive Plate Chamber (MRPC) is a gaseous detector that can offer excellent time performance and its cost to cover  large areas is low. Most RPC-type detectors are currently using C2F4H2-based gas mixtures that have very high Global Warming Potential (GWP). Another interesting feature of MRPCs is the high-rate capability.  We built a double-stack MRPC using low-resistive glass with a bulk resistivity of 109 W·cm and tested it at the T10 beam facility at CERN. We also tested it with both the standard and a more ecological gas mixture.
