Description

The Final CO2-SPICER project conference took place on 19 March at the Plaza Prague Hotel. At the conference opening, greetings were presented by Mr. Per Øystein Vatne, chargé d'affaires of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Prague and Ms. Jana Hamršmídová, Director of Exploration and Production of MND. During the conference, the results of scientific research were presented focused on carbon dioxide storage in the Žarošice oil and gas field, which is in its final phase of production. The project developed a three-dimensional geological model and based on this, a dynamic computer model was built to simulate fluid flow in deep geological horizons of the future Zar-3 pilot CO2 storage complex. Geomechanical and geochemical properties of reservoir and seal rocks were used in the model. Furthermore, the risks associated with the environmental impacts of CO2 storage were assessed, monitoring measurements were interpreted and scenarios for the future development of the storage complex were formulated. Representatives of potential End user group provided feedback from the industry and government bodies.
