Unexpected synergies

In the Reticula’s monographic issue dedicated to coexistence and interaction between human been and wildlife, no mention has been made of native birdlife.
After all, given the complexity of the subject, it is normal to suppose that some species had been left out. However, there is a large group of people who work closely with this kind of animals. They are the bird breeders. In other words, We talk about people who are really passionate about that branch of ornithology that deals with cage and aviary birds. People who make a significant contribution in order to protect the environment by breeding and sometime resettling some species, in particular those endangered.
Often, probably because this discipline it is practiced as a passionate and non-professional level, the discernment of the work of bird breeders is underestimated. 
This is an oxymoron, because behind this practice we need very precise scientific knowledge about ethology, genetics, nutrition and animal welfare. Therefore this paper aims to disseminate the work of bird breeders, often considered in the scientific circuit as "Children of a lesser God".
