Formulation and Evaluation of Herbal Hair Gel for Psoriasis

Description

Gel formulations prepared with Carbopol 934, HPMC K 4M polymers. In which Amla, Aritha, Shikakai and Neem fruit extract are used as a crude drug. They are better suited for primary healthcare due to their lower side effects, greater compatibility with the human body, and greater cultural acceptability. Herbal remedies are made of plants or plant parts that are used to treat ailments, diseases, or accidents. The formulation no. F3 (formulation based on HPMC) and C1(Formulation based on Carbopol) are showed good homogeneity, no skin irritation, good stability, anti-fungal and anti-dandruff activity. Nevertheless, the gel based on HPMC K proved to be the optimal formula, exhibiting the maximum proportion of good rheological characteristics and spreadability.
