CO2-SPICER - CO2 Storage Pilot In a CarbonatE Reservoir: R5.2 Report and dataset: Chemistry of fluids
Authors/Creators
Description
The report provides information about composition and properties of formation fluids, i.e. oil, gas and water. The oil analytical results include standard technological oil parameters, molecular fingerprints, characteristic of the oil type, thermal maturity, co-sourcing and mixing of heavy and light oil fractions, biodegradation and changes due to water washing in the reservoir. The gas analytical results include detailed chemical composition focussed on methane and CO2, gas typing, thermal maturity, microbiological effects, mixing, migration alterations, H2S occurrence and risk assessment. Formation water data include sampling depth, pressure and temperature, pH, Eh, conductivity, mineralization, i.e. total dissolved solids (TDS) and ionic compositions of formation water. Results serve for predictions of fluids miscibility, CO2 dissolution, phase equilibria and simulation of fluid flow in the reservoir in the dynamic model. The data serve also as a basis for the experiments and modeling of the CO2- fluid-rock interactions.
