Description

Pimoa zeluni Lin & Li, sp. nov. (Figs 49–50)

Etymology. The species is named after Mr. Zelun Li, the collector of the holotype; noun (name) in genitive case.

Diagnosis. The new species is similar to P. clavata Xu & Li, 2007 by having the same shape of the pimoid cymbial sclerite and cymbial denticulate process. However, the new species can be distinguished from P. clavata by the lack of numerous long and thick setae on femur I (vs. present in P. clavata), the pimoid embolic process has an apophysis at the middle and the pimoid embolic process is longer than the embolus (vs. apophysis absent on pimoid embolic process and the pimoid embolic process shorter than the embolus in P. clavata).

Description. Male (holotype). Total length 4.53; carapace 2.07 long, 1.62 wide, opisthosoma 2.46 long, 1.21 wide. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.07, ALE 0.06, PME 0.06, PLE 0.08, AME–AME 0.04, AME–ALE 0.12, PME–PME 0.12, PME–PLE 0.14, AME–PME 0.08, ALE–PLE 0.03. Chelicerae with one promarginal and four retromarginal teeth. Leg measurements: I 20.33 (5.71, 6.74, 5.78, 2.10), II 18.21 (4.94, 6.10, 5.25, 1.92), III 12.42 (3.65, 3.79, 3.64, 1.34), IV 15.06 (4.45, 4.81, 4.30, 1.50).

Coloration (Fig. 50). Carapace paler yellow, with black setae. Chelicerae brown. Endites and labium brown. Sternum paler yellow. Legs paler yellow to red-brown with long black setae. Opisthosoma oval, grey, covered with black setae. Spinnerets paler yellow.

Palp (Fig. 49). Patella short, about half of tibial length, with one retrolateral macroseta. Tibia long, as long as cymbium, with several macrosetae and a dorsal process. Paracymbium short, ca. 1/4 of cymbial length, hook shaped. Pimoid cymbial sclerite terminally expanded, distally pointed, ca. 1/4 of cymbial length. Cymbial denticulate process distally blunt, with six cuspules. Median apophysis membranous, terminally expanded. Conductor membranous, serrated. Pimoid embolic process laterally pointed, longer than embolus, middle expanded and serrated. Embolus beginning at clock 6:30 position; embolic tooth absent.

Female. Unknown.

Material examined. Holotype ♂ (IZCAS-Ar43971), China, Hebei, Baoding, Laiyuan County, Baishi Mount., (39.2133°N, 114.7073°E, elev. 1831 m), 18 September 2021, Zelun Li leg.
