İnsani Gelişmişlik Endeksi ile Sağlık Çıktıları Arasındaki İlişki: G20 Ülkeleri Üzerine Bir İnceleme

Description
Purpose: Life expectancy at birth is used to evaluate health when calculating the Human Development Index. This variable is one of the health outcomes frequently used in international comparisons. In this study, in addition to life expectancy at birth, the relationship between infant mortality rate, child mortality rate under 5 years of age, adult mortality rates and the Human Development Index in G20 countries between 2000 and 2021 was examined.
Method: In the study, the Human Development Index was used as the dependent variable and the health outcomes such as infant mortality rate, under-five child mortality rate and adult female-male mortality rates were used as independent variables. G20 country data between 2000-2021 was tested with panel data analysis.
Findings: According to the analysis results; It was concluded that among the independent variables, only adult female and male mortality rates had a significant relationship with the Human Development Index. While the relationship between adult female mortality rate and Human Development Index is positive, the relationship between adult male mortality rate and Human Development Index is negative. While the under-five child mortality rate affects the Human Development Index positively, the infant mortality rate affects it negatively, but these two relationships are meaningless because the probability values of the variables are greater than 0.05.
