Description

This study investigates mental suffering in the professional sphere through the lens of Work Psychodynamics, focusing on how the interaction between the individual and the institution affects mental health. The emphasis is placed on identifying and applying methods to reconfigure suffering into positive experiences. Through a systematic review, the study aims to unveil the critical factors contributing to the mental health issues of educators, highlighting the need to understand organizational demands and the individual's capacity to negotiate in adverse work situations. The research examines the dynamic between employees' aspirations and employers' demands, advocating for greater flexibility in work management to increase employees' autonomy, thereby alleviating suffering and fostering mental health. These considerations aim to enrich the discussion on strategies for addressing mental health problems in the workplace. It is concluded that individual suffering plays a crucial role in the debate on the effects of the work environment on mental health, emphasizing that analyzing work stress, its causes, and possible solutions is essential for creating work environments more conducive to well-being and humanization.
