Abstract:
This paper explores the pivotal role of extension education in promoting food security and nutrition in agricultural communities. Food security and adequate nutrition are fundamental human rights and crucial components of sustainable development. Despite advancements in agricultural practices and technologies, many regions still face challenges related to food insecurity and malnutrition. Extension education, with its focus on disseminating knowledge and building capacity among farmers and rural communities, plays a critical role in addressing these challenges. This research paper assesses the effectiveness of extension education programs in enhancing food security and nutrition outcomes, identifies key factors influencing their success, and proposes recommendations for optimizing extension approaches to better promote food security and nutrition.
