FAIROS Program of the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF)
Description
In 2022, the U.S. National Science Foundation Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) Office of Advanced Cyberinfrastructure (OAC) Public Access Program published a program solicitation (NSF 22-553) titled Findable Accessible Interoperable Reusable Open Science Research Coordination Networks (FAIROS RCN). The program awarded 10 RCNs totaling about $12.5 million. The FAIROS RCN program is part of OAC’s portfolio of strategic investments in cyberinfrastructure for public access and open science (CI PAOS). The presentation is a brief review on development of the FAIROS program, select award types, and more.
