Emerging Technologies in Arts and Humanities Education: A Systematic Review

Description

This research aims to identify and analyze emerging technologies applied in the field of Arts and Humanities. Through a systematic literature review based on the PRISMA protocol, 158 studies were analyzed using search strings in 2 scientific databases, contributing to addressing the research questions posed. The results indicate that, in arts and humanities, emerging technologies such as virtual reality, the Internet of Things, and mobile learning are transforming creativity, teaching, and management. Identified benefits include interactive, collaborative, and innovative learning, as well as increased accessibility to education. However, challenges such as lack of digital skills among teachers, deficiencies in infrastructure, and resistance to change highlight the need for training programs and overcoming obstacles for effective implementation of these technologies in arts and humanities education. The study presents key tools of emerging technologies that simplify the search, organization, and dissemination of information, as well as enabling the creation of multi-media teaching materials. The relevance of personalized teaching to suit different disciplines is emphasized, highlighting the need to strategically integrate emerging technologies into the educa-tional process.
