Metadata and interoperability of PIDs

The presentation was made on 6th March 2024 at WACREN pre-conference workshop, held at the National University Commission (NUC) complex in Abuja, Nigeria.
The presentation focussed on the importance of metadata, using the appropriate metadata for research outputs, ensuring metadata completeness and how metadata drives persistent Identifiers in terms of findability, accessibility interoperability and reusability. The presentation further hightlighted the element(s) of metadata that would be necessary to guarantee the interoperability of multiple PIDs as provided in DataCite metadata schema.
For the purpose of the audience, the presentations ends with the relationship between Eko-Konnect and DataCite in Nigeria.
