Description

The performing arts are complex, dynamic and embedded into societal and political systems. Providing means to research performing arts data is therefore crucial for understanding our history and culture. One of these efforts is Linked Stage Graph, a knowledge graph containing historical photographs and metadata of the Stuttgart State Theatres. While Linked Stage Graph has been well received by the cultural heritage community, still a number of challenges have to be overcome to create an even more technically and scientifically accurate research resource based on open standards and tools. This paper contributes a road map towards an improved, even more valuable and open resource. At the same time, this presentation paper constitutes an invitation to discuss use cases, data models and exploration environments for the performing arts.
