This article explores the effectiveness of the traffic light technique as a motivational tool in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classes for young learners. The technique involves using colored cards to indicate understanding levels, allowing teachers to tailor instruction to meet individual student needs. This study reviews the literature on motivation in language learning and provides a detailed description of the traffic light technique, its advantages, and considerations for implementation. The findings suggest that the traffic light technique can significantly enhance student motivation and engagement in EFL classrooms.
