The article examines the goals and tasks of teaching mathematics in general secondary schools, modern methods, and current problems and shortcomings. Studying the history of the development of the teaching methodology of mathematics. Also, the article describes different ways of thinking about learning mathematics, and shows ways to ensure literacy in the person of the document reader.
