In today's rapidly evolving global landscape, the advancement and application of knowledge serve as primary drivers of economic and social progress. Central to this transformation are education systems, with higher education playing a pivotal role in shaping knowledge economies and societies worldwide (World Bank, 1999). However, the potential of higher education in developing countries to contribute to this imperative is hindered by persistent challenges such as financial constraints, inefficiencies, inequities, quality issues, and unemployment. The Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO), Juan Somavia, succinctly captured the gravity of the global unemployment crisis in the latest ILO Global Employment Trends Report, emphasizing that mere economic growth fails to address the pressing need for employment opportunities. Consequently, nations confront a monumental job crisis and a persistent deficit in decent work that demands urgent attention and concerted action
