Abstract: Sustainability is the need of the hour. Like many other nations, India has also aimed to meet its 50% energy demand through renewable energy by 2030 and an ambitious target to becoming net zero by 2070.There are challenges in doing so but also a window for the rural population to turn this challenge into opportunity. This paper will discuss the efforts of Indian government’s move towards building sustainable future for all, the challenges in doing so and the window of opportunity that the rural population can grab to create a livelihood out of it.
