ADDITIONS TO THE PTERIDOPHYTE FLORA FROM JALPAIGURI DISTRICT OF EASTERN HIMALAYAN FOOT HILLS REGION, WEST BENGAL

As part of the studies on fern and fern-allies diversity from Jalpaiguri district of the Eastern Himalayan foot hill region of northern part of West Bengal, India several fern species were explored. In the process, 26 species of pteridophytes among all identified species were identified as new addition to the concerned district pteridophyte flora. A taxonomic account of 26 different fern and fern-allies here are belongs to 20 genera of 12 different family. Detailed description, a synonym/basionym for each taxon, photo-plates for each species, local distribution in WB, conservation status and specimens examined is provided for the further references.
