The Legal Framework of Uber in Spain

The purpose of this chapter is to describe the main elements of the legal framework that governs Uber’s activities in Spain. The chapter starts with an overview of the legal regime that governs VTC authorizations as Uber’s platform is only open to professional drivers in possession of that administrative permit. The chapter then considers the main challenges faced by Uber from a labor law perspective, before looking into the liability arising from private law.
