This work analyzes, from various perspectives, the fight against obesity (particularly childhood obesity) and the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits as two of the great challenges faced by the Law in the field of food health and nutrition, paying special attention to the following areas of work: advertising, education, culture and sport. The starting hypothesis of this publication and the project that drives it is based on: 1) the existence of obesity as a problem that must be studied and attended to by our public powers, and 2) the consequent need to clarify from the Academy the legal-administrative regime and jurisdictional framework, as well as the limits, within which public policies to promote habits of healthy lives and legal fight against obesity, sedentary lifestyle and non-communicable diseases. A logical-systematic and teleological interpretation of the current regulatory framework is offered, while lege ferenda proposals and technical-legal solutions are formulated that respond to these challenges. The team of authors, academics and technicians, related to or directly exposed to or faced with the problem raised, allows for accurate knowledge of the area under study, as well as a reliable orientation to the research, facilitating its implementation.
