Earth system model code used in publication, "Validating a microphysical prognostic stratospheric aerosol implementation in E3SMv2 using the Mount Pinatubo eruption"

This is a version of version 2 of the DOE Energy Exascale Earth System Model (E3SMv2) with a prognostic volcanic aerosol treatment (referred to in publication as E3SMv2-SPA). This treatment adds additional microphysical assumptions that better represent aerosol lifetime, burden, AOD and size distributions in the stratosphere. The new treatment can be turned off to have the capability of running the model in its default stratospheric treatment (referred to in publication as E3SMv2-PA).
