Data from the limit analysis of masonry piers with random internal texture
Creators
Description
The dataset is produced by running a series of 495 simulations using the in-house code ALMA (Analisi Limite Murature Attritive) that implements the upper bound approach of limit analysis to detect the collapse multiplier and mechanism for masonry structures. This set of data contains the results of 495 simulations achieved for the limit analysis of masonry piers created using a randomized internal structure. The acronym of the filenames are generated such that the first part determines the type of domain under study and for this dataset piers of 4.0m height and 1.0m height are studied with the acronym "000". The second part denotes the ID of the generated internal texture which ranges from 1 to 99. The third and last part denotes the friction angle used in the analysis that ranges from 20o to 40o with a step of 5o for a total of 5 different friction levels.
This database contains a *.dxf, a *.txt, a *.vtk and a *.png file. In the .dxf files are stored the geometries of the piers under study. In the .txt file the elapsed time and the collapse multiplier of each simulation can be found. The .vtk file contains all the geometry and displacement values of every masonry panel. Finally, the .png file presents the collapse mechanism obtained.
