Strachia megaspila
Description
Original data: “ a. Mysol. Presented by W. W. Saunders, Esq.” [holotype]
HOLOTYPE ♀: red-margined holotype disc; green-margined type disc; “Saunders 65.13.”; “M”; “ ASOPUS MEGASPILUS.”; “NHMUK 010592385”. Fifth right and left antennomeres missing (Fig. 110).
Current status: Amyotea reciproca (Walker, 1867) (synonymised by Stål 1870: 57; see Schouteden 1907: 54).
Notes: Walker (1867b: 341) had noted: “This may be a mere variety of S. reciproca.”, and indeed, the species was later synonymised to reciproca. The handwritten “M” on the disc label was the way Charles M. Allen, Alfred R. Wallace’s assistant recorded “Mysol” (Baker 1996: 173). The long label from Walker’s catalogue reads: “ ASOPUS MEGASPILUS.” While this is not the original combination, this is the one used by Walker (1868: 534).
