Aleiodes damus sp. nov.

Body length 5.5–8.5 mm, fore wing length 4.9–7.4 mm and antenna length 6.6–9.0 mm.

Antenna with 56 flagellomeres. Terminal flagellomere pointed. Median flagellomeres oblique, approximately 1.5 x longer laterally than wide. Occipital carina complete dorsally, narrowly obliterated near hypotomal carina ventrally. Mesopleuron largely deeply punctate to rugulose, precoxal sulcus hardly impressed or differentiated, specular area less densely punctate. Propodeum with irregular midlongitudinal carina on anterior half; with welldeveloped angular teeth posterolaterally. Fore wing vein 2-CU1 2.55 x 1-CU1. Apex of fore wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Fore wing vein 3-SR 2.5 x vein r. Fore wing vein 2-SR+M 1.65 x vein r. Fore wing vein SR1 2.8 x vein 3-SR. Hind wing vein M+CU 1.3 x 1-M. Hind wing subbasal cell with markedly reduced setosity on anterior half. Hind wing vein m-cu dark pigmented, not tubular, interstitial to postfurcal. Apex of hind tibia without a comb. Claws with pecten of 4 large, thick dark brown teeth on basal lobe of which the penultimate one is largest. Basal lobes of 1 st tergite moderately produced, sculptured. Midlongitudinal carina of 3 rd tergite variable, abselt in holtype, present on anterior 0.8 in one paratype (BCLDQ00160).

Etymology. From Thai “dam” meaning black, in reference to its largely black coloration.
