ملخص الدراسة: الصحراء تتغير كل لحظة ، تتكون في كل لحظة ، عالم في مرحلة التكوين المستمر ، بهذه العبارات تتجلى الصحراء عند عبد الرحمان منيف ، فمن يغامر بدخول هذا العالم الذي لا يعرف الاستقرار ، فليعد الراحلة و ليجهز الزاد لأنه لا يمكن له أن يرجع أدراجه ، ومادام التقهقر مستحيلا، فلا يجب الانشغال بشئ سوى بأفضل طريقة للتقدم ، رغم  مشقة السفر وما يصاحبه من عقم وجداني ، لكنه مطالب بتجاوز هذا الواقع المرئي حتى يحدث التوحد بروح المكان الذي يتجسد في " الإخلاص لقوانين الطبيعة التي لم تلوثها الحضارة، أما الحضارة فتجلب معها التنافس في الاستيطان والبناء السكني في المنازل وهذه القيم الكمالية المترفة زائدة عن الضرورة، وفائضة عن الطبيعة". سعيد الغانمي ، ملحمة الحدود القصوى ، 2000 ، ط1 ، ص158
