Description
Fig. 2. Fatty acid analysis of untransformed and transgenic A. thaliana plants. Substantial C20 fatty acid production is evidenced by comparison of the gas chromatograms of untransformed A. thaliana (A) and a pCB302.3-Δ Δ 9 8 transformant (B). ALA: OE-linolenic acid (18:3 Δ9,12,15), LA: Linoleic acid (18:2 Δ9,12). Numbered peaks are as follows: 1: Eicosadienoic acid (20:2 Δ11,14); 2: DGLA; 3: Eicosatrienoic acid (20:3 Δ11,14,17); 4: Eicosatetraenoic acid (20:4 Δ8,11,14,17).
