Fig. 1 in The effects of mineral nitrogen limitation, competition, arbuscular mycorrhiza, and their respective interactions, on morphological and chemical plant traits of Plantago lanceolata
- 1. Department of Chemical Ecology, Bielefeld University, Universitätsstrasse 25, 33615 Bielefeld, Germany
Description
Fig. 1. Principal component analysis (PCA) of log-10 transformed, scaled and zerocentered morphological parameters (total dry mass, shoot and root dry mass, root/ shoot ratio, total leaf area and specific leaf area) of Plantago lanceolata on the day of harvest. Squares denote full nitrogen supply, while triangles denote limited mineral nitrogen supply. C = control plants; H = plants competing with Hieracium pilosella; A = plants associated with the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus Rhizophagus intraradices. Five replicates per treatment. The scores of the principal components PC1 and PC2 are plotted on the x- and y-axis. The percentage of total variance explained by each PC is given for both axes. Median scores for each treatment are indicated by larger symbols. Convex hulls represented by solid lines that connect/enclose the scores of each treatment are shown for better visualisation.
