Fig. 3. Total cellular accumulation of cisplatin, in the presence or absence of tested compounds, in parental and Pt-resistant sublines. Parental (HEK293 pcDNA3 or HKESC-1) and cisplatin-resistant (HEK293 MRP2 stably transfected or HKESC-1 cisR) cells were incubated with cisplatin (200 µM), without or with 25 µM (+) or 50 µM (++) of the designated compounds 3–5 and tenacissoside A (T.A), for 4 h. Total cellular accumulation was assessed by atomic absorption analysis after harvesting the cells. The protein content of the samples was measured for normalization purposes. Data are presented as mean ± s.d. from three independent measurements. *p <0.05, **p <0.01, versus cisplatin alone in resistant cells.
