Lateral margins of pronotum flat and convexly broadened, usually angulate at middle; tympanal orifices more or less exposed; tegmina and wings frequently spotted ......... Division Zamararia.
Lateral margins of pronotum not broadened or angulate at middle, usually turned downward
Tympanal coverings well developed, usually somewhat angulate at apices; posterior angles of lateral borders of pronotum sometimes lobately produced, but lateral margins never convexly angulate at middle; tegmina hyaline, sometimes spotted, but never opaque ................................ Division Fidicinaria.
Tympanal coverings present but incomplete, orifices partly exposed; body ovate; front of head triangular ly or globosely produced; tegmina and wings hyaline, spotted; front femora destitute of spines or teeth below ................................ Division Moganniaria!
