145. Thrypticus bellus Loew, 1869 (Medeterinae) — new to Portugal

Number of specimens recorded. 29.

Distribution. Europe; also North Africa. Portugal: seven provinces, mainly in the north and the extreme south.

Ecology. Recorded from five macrohabitat categories, without distinct preference, and not recorded from grasslands and heathlands. In northwestern Europe, however, this species is mostly recorded from open wet marshlands (including brackish marshlands) with a well-developed vegetation of sedges and grasses.

Rarity (%). 12.6 (common). Rare (FL).

Activity period. April–September, November.
