97. Poecilobothrus bigoti Mik, 1883 (Dolichopodinae) — new to Portugal

Number of specimens recorded. 2.

Distribution. Thus far only recorded in Europe from France, Spain and Romania. Portugal: one province (Estremadura).

Ecology. The only site where this species has been discovered was a marshland with Phragmites australis, Typha latifolia and several Cyperaceae. Among the most common trees in the area were Salix spp., Alnus glutinosa, Fraxinus angustifolia, Populus nigra and Quercus spp. Its ecology in the rest of Europe is unknown.

Rarity (%). 1.1 (very rare).
