Description
Crenimugil heterocheilos (Bleeker 1855) — Half fringelip mullet
Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens observed by Jeff Kinch during CFMDP Survey at Kavieng fish market in 2004–2005.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia and Philippines to Vanuatu, north to southern Japan, south to New Caledonia. Found in shallow coastal waters, entering lagoons, estuaries and rivers, 0–3 m depth. Freshwater, transitional water and marine.
