Melanostomias pollicifer Parin & Pokhil'skaya 1978 — Blackeye dragonfish

Status at New Ireland. First recorded from Bismarck Sea off Kavieng, New Ireland by Parin & Pok'hilskaya (1978: 75).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: tropical eastern Indian Ocean and western Pacific. Bathypelagic. Marine.
