Description
Anodontostoma selangkat (Bleeker 1852) — Indonesian gizzard shad
Status at New Ireland. First recorded from New Hanover as Chatoëssus breviceps by Peters (1877: 848), based on ZMB 9818 (holotype of C. breviceps); reported as Anodontostoma chacunda (non Hamilton, 1822) by Munro (1958: 117–118).
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Andaman Islands east to Philippines and Papua New Guinea. Inshore, also ascending estuaries, 0–50 m depth. Transitional water and marine.
