Description
Encrasicholina heteroloba (Rüppell 1837) — Shorthead anchovy
Status at New Ireland. First recorded from New Hanover as Stolephorus heterolobus and S. devisi by Dalzell (1987a: 92).
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: East Africa and northern Madagascar east to Caroline Islands, Samoa and Tonga, north to southern Japan, south to Port Hedland (Western Australia) and New Caledonia. Pelagic in coastal waters near reefs, 10–50 m depth. Marine.
