MPA Europe Deliverable 3.3 Publish maps and models of biogenic habitat distribution in Europe on EMODnet

This deliverable has been approved by the European Commission. This document presents the framework involved in Deliverable 3.3 Publish maps and models of biogenic habitat distribution in Europe on EMODnet of MPA Europe. It details the computational procedure, presents maps and the distribution models of biogenic habitats across European seas, considering projected scenarios for both the current and future climate across two time periods (2050 and 2100). Range maps for additional habitat-forming species will become available on the next steps, as data permits. The information provided is crucial for policy-relevant research focusing on MPA designation, in particular, mapping biodiversity patterns, and will feed the main subsequent task of Prioritisation (WP5) of systematic conservation planning to design (prioritise locations for an) MPA networks.
