Data for "The functional role of spatial anisotropies in ensemble perception"

Description

Data for "The functional role of spatial anisotropies in ensemble perception" -Tiurina 1,2, Markov 1,3, Whitney 4,5,6, and Pascucci 11-Laboratory of Psychophysics, Brain Mind Institute, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland
2-Department of Psychology, Technische Universität Dresden, Dresden, Germany
3-Department of Psychology, Goethe University Frankfurt, Frankfurt am Main, Germany
4-Vision Science Graduate Group, University of California, Berkeley, Berkeley, USA
5-Department of Psychology, University of California, Berkeley, Berkeley, USA
6-Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute, University of California, Berkeley, Berkeley, USA

The dataset of each experiment is stored in CSV format (e.g., EXP_01_SP_EC.csv).
Tables are stored in long format, with rows coding the event in each trial, and columns
coding variables.
The subject identifier (number) is coded by the variable obs.
The mean of the ensemble is coded by the variable theta.
The observer's report is coded by the variable resp.
The difference between the correct answer and the report is coded by the variable error. Errorc variable identifies cleaned error (see Methods).
The variable error_removed identifies which trials were outliers and removed from the analysis.
Variables ori1 - ori25 identify individual Gabor orientations according to their spatial positions.
Variables deltas1 - deltas1 identify the difference between individual Gabor orientation and the mean of the ensemble.

Variables onset_order1 - onset_order25 identify the temporal order in which individual Gabor was presented (Experiment 4).
The meaning of the other variables should be self-explanatory by the column header name.
Additional information on each variable is described in the method section.
