Status of Global Rice Technology Development and Its Impact: A Bibliometric analysis based on web of science

Description
Population growth and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic are putting unprecedented pressure on food systems. The breakthrough and popularization of rice technology is regarded as an important way to solve the problem of food security. Different geographical environment and economic and social conditions promoted the emergence of diversified rice techniques and strategies. Based on the WOS core database and using bibliometric methods, this paper analyzes the development and change characteristics and trends of rice breeding and extension research. The research results show that: the scientific research output related to the impact of rice breeding technology research and extension is on the rise, China has a leading position, but compared with the United States, it has less cooperation with other countries and regions, and has strong promotion potential; The International Rice Research Institute, CAAS and CAS are the main research institutions; the existing research mainly focuses on natural science, and the content of social science is relatively lacking; Cooperative research at the author and institutional level is constantly strengthening. In addition, research hotspots in the field have been formed through word frequency analysis and integration. The promotion research areas include genetic correlation such as gene expression, gene identification, effective trait markers and quantitative trait loci, yield dependent such as yield and production growth and Trait related such as resistance about high temperature resistance, disease resistance and so on. In addition, climate change factors are also the focus of research in this field. This shows that adapting to climate change and improving yields are two aspects that have recently received relatively high attention in this fields. And Genetic engineering and effective trait Tracking will be important technologies to promote the yield or production, create improved varieties, release yield potential and is the key to helping crops adapt to climate change in the future.
