Cup Mark Array - Algarve, Portugal

Description

This rectangular array of cup marks was seen on the surface of the outcrop that the five tombs in the Necropole da Carrasqueira are cut into. There are 12 visible cup marks but there may have originally been perhaps 6 to 8 more as a section of the rock surface next to the array has spalled away. The indented edges of the spalled area indicate the probabable positions and extent of now erased cup marks. There are five rock-cut tombs on this outcrop, of Visigoth age (C5-6th). Two other separate and much larger cup marks were found on other parts of the outcrop. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
