Description

Orcevia sica (Wu & Yang, 2008) comb. nov. (Ṃĸ尔¤)

Figs 21, 233–249

Laufeia sicus Wu & Yang, 2008: 19, figs A–C.

Laufeia longapophysis Lei & Peng, 2012: 9, figs 4, 8a–c syn. nov.

Type material. Holotype: ♂ (MHBU, examined), CHINA: Yunnan Province, Lushui County, Pianma Town, 2070– 2150 m elev., 11 May 2004, leg. Z. Yang.

Other material examined. 1♂ (MHBU-ARA-00023556), CHINA: Yunnan Province, Baoshan City, Longyang District, Baihualing tourist area, 25.3044°N, 98.7991°E, 1653 m elev., leg. C. Jin, B. Zhou & X. Zang, YNBS-17- 17; 1♂ 1♀ (MHBU-ARA-00023555; MHBU-ARA-00023553), CHINA: Yunnan Province, Tengchong City, Mt. Laifeng, 14–15 May 2004, leg. Z. Yang; 1♂ (MHBU-ARA-00023554; DNA Voucher: KYU034), CHINA: Yunnan Province, Tengchong City, Xinhua Village, 24.8039°N, 98.5091°E, 1863 m elev., leg. C. Jin, B. Zhou & X. Zang, YNTC-17-05; 2♀ (MHBU-ARA-00023552), CHINA: Yunnan Province, Lianghe County, Mengyang Town, Kazi Village, 24.6092°N, 98.2471°E, 13 June 2021, leg. S. Zhang.

Diagnosis. Males can be distinguished from the closely related O. wuliang sp. nov. by the relatively straight and slender RTA (Fig. 242), females can be distinguished from O. wuliang sp. nov. by the atria that are close to each other (Fig. 244), and the accessory glands that are invisible in dorsal view (Fig. 245).

Description. Male. See Wu & Yang (2008).

Female. Habitus as shown in Fig. 238. Measurements of paratype (KYU-SAL539): carapace length 2.38; abdomen length 2.83; measurements of eyes: AME 0.43, ALE 0.28, PME 0.05, PLE 0.22; measurements of legs: I 3.87 (1.22, 0.83, 0.75, 0.57, 0.50), II 3.48 (1.06, 0.75, 0.64, 0.57, 0.46), III 3.78 (1.26, 0.69, 0.68, 0.72, 0.43), IV 4.34 (1.30, 0.64, 1.00, 0.92, 0.48); leg formula 4132. Carapace dark, with sparse yellow setal band on axis, legs I–II slightly darker than III–IV.

Epigynum and vulva (Figs 244–245): atria small, relatively close to each other; spermathecae large and close to each other; copulatory ducts with starting part covering the gap between spermathecae in ventral view; tubular accessory glands invisible in ventral view.

Natural history. Specimens were collected from ground, or cracks on large rock.

Distribution. China (Yunnan).

Remark. The tubular accessory glands, the folded inner tubes in spermathecae, the shape of embolic disc and the shape of lobe-like protrusion of tegulum all indicate that this species belongs to Orcevia. Therefore, we herein propose this new combination. Topotypes of Laufeia longapophysis Lei & Peng, 2012 syn. nov. show the same body form and genital features as Orcevia sica (Wu & Yang, 2008) comb. nov., and therefore is synonymized with the latter.
