Description
Statue of Saint Donatus from 1730 on the main square of Großweikersdorf.
Donatus von Münstereifel was a Roman army commander and is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church. Donatus is usually depicted as a Roman soldier. His attributes include sheaves of grain, palms, lightning bolts or knives. In parts of Germany and Lower Austria he is regarded as the patron saint against storms, lightning and hail.
