Description

This is a partial LiDAR scan of Big Indian Rock (middle left of the 40'x60' boulder) located in Safe Harbor, PA. The scan was performed by an iPhone 13. Did you know that one of Pennsylvania's most significant archaeological sites is in Lancaster County? Hidden in plain sight in the middle of the Susquehanna River, a half-mile below Safe Harbor dam, is the millennium-old petroglyphs of Little Indian Rock and Big Indian Rock. These boulders represent one of the two largest remaining concentrations of rock art in the northeast United States (the other site being the Machias Bay Petroglyphs along the northeast coast of Maine). *Read more about the Big Indian Rock here*: https://wp.me/PazrDx-5vW *Additional scans of the petroglyphs at Safe Harbor*: Little Indian Rock: https://skfb.ly/ow9Fz Big Indian Rock 1 (middle left): https://skfb.ly/owuFQ Big Indian Rock 2 (middle right): https://skfb.ly/ow9Fx Big Indian Rock 3 (front center): https://skfb.ly/ow9FB Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
