Description

Key to Japanese species of Liparocephalus

1. Body almost black, head rounded, mandibles short (normal such as most Diaulota species); sexual dimorphism in head shape not significant................................................................................. L. litoralis

- Body reddish brown, head quadrangular, mandibles elongate; sexual dimorphism significant: head and mandibles larger in male than in female............................................................................... L. tokunagai
