Analytical Study on Land Ownership and Socio-Economic Status on Scheduled Tribes with Special Reference to Nashik District

Introduction-
There is strong relationship between tribal population and land as their entire livelihood depends on land, which they posses. The concepts of land holding have come up among the tribes since then they have shifted from primitive to shifting and now to sedentary agriculture. Their economics status depends upon the size and quality of land, which they hold and cultivate. It is mostly realized from the fact that tribal's in the state of Maharashtra or elsewhere are mainly conflict to hilly and forest areas, which are relatively less fertile and productive. This is what a practice of subsistence agricultural system that exists in the tribal society. According to census of 2011 the scheduled tribe population in India is 104,545,716 and Maharashtra that is 10,510,213.
