Galvanometer
Description
The galvanometer was designed to measure weak direct currents. The measuring element was a movable magnetic needle suspended on a quartz thread between two fixed coils. In order to protect the measuring system against the Earth's magnetic field, armor in the form of a soft iron sphere was used.
