Palazzo Reale / Osservatorio Astronomico Palermo
Description
The Palace of Normans or Royal Palace of Palermo and the astronomical observatory hosted in the oldest part of the palace, the Pisana tower. The palace was built in the 12th century and has been the site of government and power of the Sicily and the southern Italy. Nowaday it hosts the regional Sicilian parliament. The observatory was founded in 1790 by Giuseppe Piazzi which discovered the first asteroid from this site in 1801. The observatory is an active center of astrophysical research in the fields of exoplanets, solar physics, star formation and supernovae explosions. I used RenderDoc and Blender to import the model from Google Maps Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
